“France will help Georgia do the reforms which are necessary to get into the EU,” said Catherine Colonna, Swedish Minister for EU Affairs ahead of the informal meeting of European Affairs Ministers in Stockholm, Sweden.
“France has been very clear the future of Georgia is European, and there’s a very strong, and we can see that every day, very strong appetite from Georgian people towards the EU.
We will help Georgia do the reforms, which are necessary to get into the EU. As for today, I cannot obviously comment, but we are really ready to help Georgia as much as possible, and Georgia must as well help itself as much as possible. If the recommendation is positive, of course. But we will wait to see the recommendations.
I also think that we can help with the reform, we can provide technical support. We also need the government to actually make a strong statement about it as well. But yes, we are all looking forward to what’s helping Georgia for accession,” Catherine Colonna said.
