“The startups had interesting ideas, as a result of which they will be able to offer innovative services in various sectors to customers both in our country and abroad. The Government of Georgia, our Ministry will continue to support innovative startups in the future,” - the Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Mariam Kvrivishvili said at the awarding ceremony of the winners of the 150,000 GEL co-financing grants program of Georgia's Innovation and Technology Agency.
"We believe that the promotion of innovations will further strengthen our country and bring additional benefits to its economy and budget," - Mariam Kvrivishvili noted.
According to the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Avtandil Kasradze, the head of Innovation and Technology Agency, also congratulated the startups on their victory.
"20 startups won in the 11th stage of the 150,000 GEL co-financing grants program. Their applications were the best among 411 innovative ideas. From the received applications, foreign experts specially selected for the co-financing grants program identified the finalists, who were trained by foreign trainers to present their ideas before the Investment Commission.
The goal of the 150,000-GEL co-financing program is to develop innovative products and services with international potential in Georgia, their commercialization and stimulation of the creation of innovative enterprises. It should be noted that a total of 195 startups were financed within the framework of the previous ten rounds of the program.
