Import volumes of fresh and chilled fish decreased by almost 50%. According to the data published by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (GEOSTAT), in January 2024, Georgia purchased 54.59 tons (506.7 thousand US dollars) of products, compared to 81.33 tons (785.1 thousand US dollars) in the same period last year.

According to the same data, fish was imported from a total of 4 countries this year, among which Turkey is the leader with 81%.

Norway - 10.06 tons (160.8 thousand USD)
France - 200 kg - (6,960 USD)
Sri Lanka - 130 kg - (1 430 USD)
