Fish exports increased 16-fold - countries where Georgian product is exported

In January 2022, compared to the same period last year, exports of fresh and chilled fish increased 16 times. Particularly, according to Geostat, in January 2022, 114.2 tons of fish (70.3 thousand USD) were exported from the country, while in the same period last year - 6.9 tons (47 thousand USD).
As for the annual figure, in 2021 the country exported 80.7 tons (551.1 thousand US dollars) of fish.
According to statistics, in 2021 the product was exported to a total of 2 countries, namely Azerbaijan - 78.5 tons (523.5 thousand USD) and Armenia - 2.1 tons (27.6 thousand USD).
This year, fish was exported again to Azerbaijan (5.5 tons) and also to Turkey (108.7 tons).
