The delegation of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth of Georgia, led by Deputy Minister Nikoloz Aznaurashvili, paid a working visit to Turkey.
The first session of the joint committee of Georgia and Turkey on cultural issues was hosted by the Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey, Gökhan Yazgı, together with the Turkish delegation.
During the visit, they discussed the ways of developing cooperation between Turkey and Georgia in various fields of culture, namely, cinema, literature, cultural heritage, performing and fine arts, and museum and exhibition directions.
The parties talked about joint film production and creative relations in the audiovisual field. They also discussed the issues of developing the relations between performing and fine arts institutions, as well as museums, participation in the international book fairs, literary festivals and competitions. The Georgian and Turkish parties will continue cooperation in the field of tangible and intangible historical and cultural heritage protection, joint scientific and restoration research, and will also facilitate the exchange of experience and technical and expert support in this direction.
To be informed, the said visit to develop cooperation in the field of culture was planned on November 1-3 this year after the official visit of the Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey, Gökhan Yazgı, during which he met with the Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth of Georgia, Tea Tsulukiani.
At this stage, the parties are working on the 2024-2028 cooperation program in the field of culture between the Government of Georgia and the Government of the Republic of Turkey.
