The first conference of the EU4Culture Regional Network organized by the EU project EU4Culture will be held in Tbilisi at 10:00 on 19-20 May, 2022, with the aim of deepening cooperation between the cities of the Eastern Partnership countries.
Under the project, the EU4Culture Cities’ Network will be formally established, bringing the cities from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine together that have received funding to develop cultural development strategies. The purpose of the Cities’ Network is to facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration between the selected cities. Poti, Zugdidi and Kutaisi will be the member cities of the network from Georgia.
The conference will be attended by the Mayors and other representatives of the selected cities, representatives of the EU Delegation to Georgia and the Ministry of Culture of Georgia, experts and stakeholders.
The main goals of the event are:
- Establishment of the EU4Culture Cities’ Network and formalization of its functioning;
- Presentation of the cities included in the network and acquaintance of the participants;
- Demonstration of the best examples of joint cultural events and partnership development to the cities;
- Introduction of the opportunities for the cities to obtain the funding from EU4Culture and donor organizations.
On the second day of the conference, a seminar on policy development and regulatory framework will be held for city representatives.
EU4Culture is an EU-funded project that aims to increase the role of culture and the creative industries in the country's economic and social development process. The project is implemented by the Goethe Institut (a leading partner), the Danish Cultural Institute, the Czech Centers and the French Institute of Georgia.
