Finnish logistics company Nurminen Logistics has announced the launch of the Trans-Caspian freight services.
The first full-fledged container train left China on May 10th. The train will pass through Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Romania and arrive in Europe.
Nurminen Logistics writes in the official press release that the new route has been created from scratch in the last two months.
"The Trans-Caspian route, which includes rail and sea transport, perfectly meets the needs of the modern transport chain, where time and ecology play an important role. It takes 3 times less time to transport cargo from China to Central Europe compared to shipping," - the company said in a statement.
Also, the company writes that there is a great demand for the new route and therefore the first train is fully loaded. The train, which will first depart on May 25, is almost full. Weekly flights are scheduled to start in June.
