
“This week, the conclusive events of the World Book Capital project will be held in Tbilisi,” – the Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze stated at today's meeting of the capital's municipal government.
According to him, next week, Tbilisi will hand over the honorary status of the World Book Capital to the Mexican city of Guadalajara.
"Tbilisi has been the World Book Capital for a year. Despite the pandemic, about a hundred projects were implemented involving thousands of people. As part of the first meeting of the UNESCO World Book Capital Network, we are hosting the official guests from the UNESCO, the International Publishers Association, the Frankfurt Book Fair and the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions, as well as Mayors and representatives of the World Book Capital Project from those capital cities, which have already had or will have the honorary status of the UNESCO World Book Capitals," - said Kakha Kaladze.
According to the Tbilisi Mayor, the events dedicated to the Day of the Georgian Language will be held at the Deda Ena Park on April 14.
In connection with the Day of the Georgian Language, interesting talks on the Georgian language and topics related to the 1978 developments will be held at the event. Also, special entertaining and cognitive activities will be organized for children. Thematic audio and visual installations will be placed in the garden. The event will start at 13:00.
