
What are the indicators of economic relations (in terms of investments, trade turnover and tourism) between Georgia and Bulgaria? - according to the data published by the National Statistical Office of Georgia (Geostat), last year, an investment of 2.3 million dollars was transferred from Bulgaria. In the first quarter of this year, 779 thousand dollars were invested.
As for the trade index, according to the data of seven months of the current year, Bulgaria ranked seventh among the ten largest trading partners of Georgia with a 3.6% share. The turnover of goods trade between the countries amounted to 363 million dollars, which is 62.7% more than the revenue recorded in January-July last year. It is also noted that during this period, a large part of the trade turnover, 235 million dollars, was measured by exports. As a result, Bulgaria ranked sixth among the top ten largest exporting countries of Georgia. For Georgia, the income from goods exported to Bulgaria increased by 84.7% compared to those seven months of 2021.
In this period, copper ores and concentrates were Georgia’s most important export goods sold in Bulgaria. In this direction, the ranking of goods worth of more than 1 million dollars exported from the country is as follows:
1. Copper ores and concentrates - $221.4 million, 88,247 tons;
2. Copper scrap and waste - $3.4 million, 380 tons;
3. Precious metal ores and concentrates - $2.8 million, 1,003 tons;
4. Carbon steel rods - $1.8 million, 1 898 tons;
5. Telephone devices - $1.5 million.
