Fastest ski lift kicks off operating in Svaneti, highest mountainous region of Georgia

The modern ski lift has started to operate on Hatsvali Mountain in Mestia, the main regional center of Zemo (Upper) Svaneti.
Ten-person chairlifts can carry up to 2,400 passengers per hour. The length of the ropeway is 1421 meters. The speed of the new ski lift reaches 6 m/s and is the fastest in the Transcaucasia.
The project was commissioned by the Austrian-Swiss company, the Doppelmayr/Garaventa Group, on behalf of the Georgian Mountain Resorts Development Company.
