"My main recommendation has always been to obey the regulations that exist in the country today - everyone should be polite, keep a social distance, follow sanitary orders, avoid large gatherings, because the virus spread is most common in these places," – Head of the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health of Georgia, Amiran Gamkrelidze, stated at the briefing held after the next meeting of the Coordination Council.
He noted that the rate of wearing a facemask in the country has increased.
"I am a little glad that according to the latest data, the face-mask wearing rate has increased to 53%. That is, people are a little scared, feeling that a facemask really protects us from the coronavirus. If this rate reaches 80%-90%, we will undergo this new wave even more relatively calmly," - Gamkrelidze said.
