The National Environment Agency has issued a warning that Georgia will continue to endure extreme heat, with temperatures expected to remain at a blistering +40°C through August 9.

According to forecasters, parts of western Georgia may also see highs of +38°C to +40°C during this period.

“This intense heat presents serious hazards, including heightened thermal stress, an increased risk of forest fires, and worsening drought conditions,” the Agency reported. “The current threat level is assessed as medium.”
