External merchandise trade goes up by 32.8%

“In 2022, Georgia’s external merchandise trade (excluding non-declared trade) amounted to USD 19 042.9 million, 32.8 per cent higher to 2021,” - the National Statistics Service (GeoStat) reported.
The exports amounted to USD 5 592.8 million (31.8% higher), while the imports stood at USD 13 450.1 million (33.2% higher).
The negative trade balance was USD 7 857.2 million in 2022, and its share in external trade turnover made 41.3%.
In 2022, the share of the top ten trading partners by exports in the total exports of Georgia amounted to 78.6%.
The top partners were China (USD 736.8 million), Azerbaijan (USD 672.6 million) and Russia (USD 651.6 million).
