Exports of natural stones from Georgia are on the rise. In 2024, 4,027 tons of limestone, valued at USD 415,020, were exported. This is a significant increase from 937 tons worth USD 83,870 in 2023, and 517 tons worth USD 119,000 in 2022.
China is the largest market, importing 2,544 tons valued at USD 333,000, followed by Armenia with 1,407 tons worth USD 63,000, and Italy with 76 tons worth USD 11,180.
The growth in limestone exports is attributed to the development of quarries in Georgia, with companies like Limestone Georgia, part of the Zodi Group, leading the way. Colliers Georgia MMS has supported these efforts by facilitating exports.
Maia Zavrashvili, Managing Partner of Colliers Georgia MMS, highlighted that facing limestone is a key export product, and emphasized the challenges of establishing Georgia as a natural stone exporter.
