The export of live sheep from Georgia decreased. According to official statistics, in January-July, the country received $9.2 million from the sales of sheep, and in total 2,748 tons of sheep were exported.
It should be noted that in the same period last year, the income received from the sales of live sheep amounted to $16.5 million. Accordingly, in the first seven months of 2022, sheep exports decreased by 44.1%.
Statistics show that Saudi Arabia was the main partner in terms of live sheep export in the last three years. This year, the export of goods in this direction decreased significantly - by 72.2%.
The list of live sheep export markets for Georgia in 7 months of 2022 is as follows:
1. Saudi Arabia - $3.6 million, 858 tons;
2. Azerbaijan - $3.1 million, 1,042 tons;
3. Egypt - $1.2 million, 350 tons;
4. Jordan - $1.1 million, 473 tons;
5. Qatar - $100 thousand, 24 tons.
