
During the first four months of the current year, the export of natural grape wines from Georgia is a record high. In January-April, the country received an earning of $78 million 604 thousand from the sale of wine, which is 30.2% higher than the figure of the same period of 2022.
According to official statistics, among the largest export products for the reporting period, wine ranks 4th with a share of 4%.
Reportedly, Russia is Georgia’s traditional trading partner for the sale of Georgian wine. During the first four months of 2023, the rate of sale of goods in this direction is also a record high. This year, 19,044 tons of wine from Georgia worth $52.3 million were sold in Russia. Accordingly, dependence on the market increased to 66.6%. In January-April 2022, the share of Russian wine exports was 55.7%. In addition, sales of goods in this direction increased by 55.5% compared to January-April last year.
From the statistics, it can be seen that for the reporting period this year, the export of wine to Ukraine also shows a positive trend.

1. Russia - $52.3 million;
2. Poland - $4.2 million;
3. Ukraine - $4.1 million;
4. China - $3.7 million dollars;
5. Kazakhstan - $2.8 million;
6. Belarus - $1.9 million;
7. The USA - $1.6 million;
8. Germany - $1.4 million;
9. Latvia - $1.2 million;
10. Lithuania - $723 thousand.
