According to the EastFruit analysts, the revenues from the Georgian exports of edible fruits, nuts and vegetables in January-August were $3 million less than in 2021 - based on official trade data for September, the gap is now much larger.
The export revenues in 9 months of this year amounted to $143 million, in the same period of the current year, the amount decreased to $126 million, while in January-September from $17 million to $14 million.
In September, the export revenues from of nuts are $12 million less than last year. The rest of the difference is almost entirely accounted for by the potatoes. All other product changes are within $0.5 million.
In terms of nuts, the situation is difficult, the world stocks are large, but the demand is small. Potato exports in 2021 were due to an increase in demand from Russia, which was temporary.
It should be noted that 2021 was a record year in terms of export volume. Nuts are the main export product, which is actively exported in the fourth quarter of 2022.
