According to the data published by the Georgian State Electrosystem, if last year 1 billion 138 million kWh of electricity was exported in 7 months, this year Georgia has sold only 938.58 million kWh to neighboring countries. Among them, in July, 220.4 million kWh was exported. In July, the average export price of 1 kWh was 5 cents.
The main market is still Turkey. This year, 807.5 million kWh of electricity was sold to this country, 137.4 million kWh was delivered to Armenia.
The decrease in electricity export is related to the cheapening of electricity in Turkey. If in 2022 the annual average price in Turkey was 15.1 cents, in 2023 the price decreased to 9.8 cents, and this year - to 5-6 cents.
It should be noted that this year the volume of net export is 520.44 million kWh.
