According to the January-May 2022 data reported by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat), the exports of asparagus from Georgia to Russia increased. In particular, 13.9 tons (with the revenue of 88.2 thousand USD) of products were exported from Georgia in 2022, in the first 5 months of last year - 12.8 tons (with the revenue of 81.9 thousand USD).
It should be noted that in January-May 2021, asparagus was exported to only two countries, namely Russia and Armenia, out of which more than 99% - to Russia (12.8 tons - with the revenue of 81.4 thousand USD). However, this year the situation has changed and the export of asparagus to Russia has halved. At the same time, it seems that manufacturers have seized new markets.
The list of the countries, where the asparagus was exported from Georgia, is as follows:
- Russia - 6.7 tons (with the revenue of 39.9 thousand USD);
- The United Arab Emirates - 5.4 tons (with the revenue of 33.1 thousand USD);
- Kuwait - 1.4 tons (with the revenue of 11.6 thousand USD);
- Armenia - 0.3 tons (with the revenue of 3.5 thousand USD).
