
According to the data of the last 11 months of 2023, 9,743 tons of apples worth $6 million 513 thousand were exported from Georgia During this period, the volume of goods sold will be 27% lower than the 2022 indicator, and the value will be lower by 20.8%.
In January-March 2023, Georgia exported to five destinations, and the main export market is Russia, where 88.5% of apples were exported last year.
The ranking of exporting countries is as follows:
1. Russia - $5.4 million; 8 628 tons;
2. Armenia - $975 thousand; 965 tons;
3. Kazakhstan - $28.1 thousand; 79.1 tons;
4. The United Arab Emirates - $18.8; 20.4 tons;
5. Azerbaijan - $13.5; 50.6 tons.
A decrease in the import volume can be observed as well. Last year, the country bought 5,859 tons of apples worth $2 million 413 thousand. Compared to the results of 2022, last year's imports are 32.2% lower in terms of quantity and 28.8% lower in value.
In January-March last year, Georgia bought the largest amount of apples from Turkey, which accounted for 78.2% of total imports.
In total, in 2023, Georgia bought apples from 10 countries, and the ranking looks like this:
1. Turkey - $1.4 million; 4 582 tons;
2. The Netherlands - $559.7 thousand; 303.2 tons;
3. Ukraine - $247 thousand; 629 tons;
4. Poland - $56.4 thousand; 120.2 tons;
5. Moldova - $31.3 thousand; 58.5 tons;
6. China - $27 thousand; 23.4 tons;
7. Belgium - $19.6 thousand; 20.1 tons;
8. Azerbaijan - $18.2 thousand; 35.8 tons;
9. Armenia - $17.11 thousand; 46 tons;
10. Iran - $16 thousand; 41.5 tons.
