
According to the data published by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat), in July 2022, Georgia exported products worth of $43.95 million to Ukraine, which is almost twice as much as 96.5% more than the figure ($22.37 million) of the previous month, and 57.5% more than the figure (27.9 million) of the same period last year.
Moreover, according to the data posted by the National Statistics Office of Georgia, at least since 2009, exports from Georgia to Ukraine have never been of such a volume in one month, which is probably related to the increase in the global prices after the start of the war by Russia.
The list of the Top 5 products that were exported from Georgia to Ukraine in July is as follows:
1. Light vehicles - $28.82 million;
2. Oil and oil products - $5.67 million;
3. Ethyl alcohol and alcoholic beverages - $2.85 million;
4. Natural grape wines - $1.6 million;
5. Ethylene polymers - $1.2 million;
It should be noted that in July, light vehicles, as well as oil and oil products, were completely re-exported.
As for imports, in July 2022 we imported products from Ukraine worth of $20.06 million, which is 34.5% more than last month's figure of $14.92 million, and 53.8% less than July 2021's figure of $43.46 million.
This year, imports from Ukraine to Georgia totaled $146.1 million, which is 38% less than the data of 7 months of last year - $235.78 million.
The list of the top 5 goods imported into Georgia in July are as follows:
1. Medicinal products packaged - $2.43 million;
2. Corks, lids and roofs - $851.8 thousand;
3. Heating and food preparation ovens - $827.4 thousand;
4. Poultry meat and food by-products - $759.1 thousand;
5. Bread, flour confectionery, sugar, cake and other pastries - $670 thousand.
