
In the 6 months of 2023, the electricity produced in Georgia amounted to 7,060.5 GWh. According to the data published by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (GEOSTAT), in the same period last year, this figure was 7062.6 GWh.
Out of this, 1680.5 GWh of electricity was produced through thermal power plants, while 5337.4 GWh - through hydroelectric power plants, while the electricity produced by wind power plants amounted to 42.8 GWh.
In 6 months, the electricity import to Georgia amounted to 2098.7 GWh, which is 11% more than the indicator of the same period of 2022. Last year's figure was 1882 GWh. According to the available data, no electricity was imported in June 2023.
Electricity export volume amounted to 2254.7 GWh and increased by 69%. Last year, 1330.8 GWh of electricity was exported.
According to the agency, the volume of the domestic electricity supply was 6867.5 GWh.
