The Georgian National Museum is preparing for a new exhibition. "Miniatures about Yunus Emre" will be presented in the museum from November 30.
Visitors will see 25 works brought from Turkey specifically for this exhibition. The miniatures are inspired by the poems of the great Turkish poet. The exhibition will also feature a Georgian translation of Yunus Emre's book. The event is organized by the Yunus Emre Institute of Tbilisi.
Yunus Emre (1238-1321) was the greatest Sufi poet of the Turkish people. His poetry is based on the love, respect and tolerance of people.
2021 has been declared the year of Yunus Emre by UNESCO, on the occasion of the 700th anniversary of the death of the Turkish poet. The exhibition will officially open at 14:00 pm, on November 30, at the Tbilisi History Museum and will last for 10 days.
