The fight for the freedom of the homeland and the dignified future of our people continues! However, today I want to put aside all the gravity of the year ahead.

December 31 is a different day. This is a day that unites us all and we equally love each other. It brings only the best memories and good wishes to life. Therefore, I would like to congratulate everyone indiscriminately, because this day is for everyone - the new year begins and a new chance appears to change, to improve, to be kind! The old year goes by and gives you a chance to leave in the past year everything that has not been worked out or has been done badly before; to leave enmity, strife, confrontation in the past – that is what destroys your country from the inside and outside! 

I wish you all a happy new 2022 year! This is the first new year when I am in prison, but I have tried not to lose my optimism.

This is the first New Year I am celebrating in prison, but I tried not to lose my optimism and I found a little bit of goodness in it. Yes, instead, this is the first year, when the youngest participant of the New Year’s concert of the Mtavari TV, my most beloved girl and youngest child, Elis Maria Saakashvili, will greet us from the stage with her mother. I am happy to have such an opportunity and my New Year is distinguished from others not by the prison walls but by the TV debut of my favorite girl.

And again, happy new year and best wishes. In 2022, we must definitely change everything so that our children become more joyful and happy!
