
A special event celebrating the Foundation Day of the Republic of San Marino was organized by the Honorary Consul of the Republic of San Marino in Georgia, Giorgi Salakaia.
The event was attended by the head of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Accredited Ambassadors of foreign countries in Georgia, Honorary Consuls and other officials.
The Honorary Consul of the Republic of San Marino in Georgia, Giorgi Salakia, delivered a speech to the diplomatic corps accredited in Georgia. The solemn evening was opened with the anthem of the Republic of San Marino. Musical numbers were performed by Lisa Bagrationi, Nato Metonidze and pianist Giorgi Gigashvili. The event was hosted by the wine bar-restaurant Si Certo.








Giorgi Salakaia, the founder of Badagoni Wine Company, was appointed as the Honorary Consul of the Republic of San Marino in Georgia in 2019. Giorgi Salakaia was nominated to the mentioned position by the government of the Republic of San Marino.
Until October 1, 2012, the Honorary Consul of San Marino was Bidzina Ivanishvili, who was replaced in 2014 by the world-renowned Italian winemaker Dr. Donato Lanati. The main holiday of the country is the Day of the Foundation of the Republic - September 3 (301 AD).
To celebrate the Day of the Foundation of the Republic, the Tbilisi Tower was lit up in the colors of the San Marino flag.
