
The opening ceremony for the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 will be held in Basel, Switzerland, on May 11, kicking off the week-long celebration of music and culture.
The iconic Turquoise Carpet event will begin at 15:45 Georgian time and last approximately two hours. The 37 competing acts, including Georgia’s Mariam Shengelia and the renowned ensemble “Erisioni,” will walk from Basel’s historic City Hall (Rathaus) to the Market Square. From there, they will board vintage trams en route to the Basel Messe, the main Eurovision venue.
The event will be broadcast live on the official Facebook page of GPB First Channel, allowing fans in Georgia and beyond to follow the ceremony in real time.
The Eurovision Song Contest itself will take place on May 13 (First Semi-Final), May 15 (Second Semi-Final), and May 17 (Grand Final). Mariam Shengelia is set to perform 10th in the second semi-final on May 15.
