Medea Janiashvili, the Acting Head of the National Tourism Administration of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, has summarized the revenues received from international tourism in nine months of 2022.
According to Medea Janiashvili, there is a special increase in tourism revenues received from the countries of the European Union and the Persian Gulf.
"The European and Persian Gulf countries are our priority markets; this can be seen from the results. The European Union ranks 2nd in terms of tourism revenues, which is very gratifying and gives us even more hope that revenues will increase by the end of the year," Medea Janiashvili said.
Asthe Acting Head of the National Tourism Administration of Georgia noted, in September, revenues from tourism exceeded the same amount recorded in the period of 2019. "We have already exceeded the recovery rate and have reached a 118% result compared to 2019. In the January-September period, the recovery of tourist visits is up to 68%, and of revenues is - 98%.
