Giorgi Khanishvili addressed the participants and stressed the importance of the EU support in strengthening the food safety system.
"Georgia is now going through an important stage in the introduction of modern food safety standards and legislative approximation with the EU, and in this regard it is important to share the experience of the countries involved in the project," - said Giorgi Khanishvili.

The event was attended by Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Khvtisiashvili, representatives of the diplomatic corps, the Ministry of Finance, the non-governmental sector and industry associations.
The Twinning project has been implementing since October 2020 with the involvement of Georgia, Latvia, Estonia and Sweden. Within the framework of the project, invited experts from partner countries share theoretical and practical experience with their Georgian counterparts. The project is funded by the EU Public Service Twinning Program and will run until November 2022.
