The Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili emphasized that “European integration remains Georgia’s strategic priority.”
During a joint press conference with her Hungarian counterpart, Peter Siarto, she expressed concern, stating, “It is troubling to see that various actors have often used European integration as a tool to destabilize the country in recent years.”
Botchorishvili stressed that European integration is “crucial” for Georgia’s future in Europe, and she called for “a constructive approach” from all parties involved.
“For years, Georgia has proven to be a reliable partner. We stand ready to contribute whenever our partners need us, whether in fostering peace, ensuring security, promoting economic growth, or building a brighter future,” she said.
She added, “I believe that Georgia can play a significant role in ensuring a prosperous future for Europe. To achieve this, we need to engage in open dialogue and address key issues. We must stop using European integration as a tool for destabilization or interference in Georgia's internal affairs, which, unfortunately, we continue to witness.”
