Josep Borrell, the European Union High Representative, will be on a visit to Georgia from August 7 to 8 to discuss progress on the country’s European integration path and exchange views on wider foreign policy and regional matters, the bloc’s diplomatic service said.
In the framework of the visit, Borrell will meet the Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili, Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili and Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili.
The EU official will also take the opportunity to meet with representatives of all political parties present in the Georgian Parliament and hold discussions with civil society representatives.
During the visit, Borrell will also mark 15 years of the European Union Monitoring mission’s presence in Georgia, which the representation said reflected the bloc’s “commitment” to Georgia’s security and peaceful conflict resolution.
