The European Union Delegation to Georgia extended its congratulations to the citizens of Georgia on National Flag Day.

In its congratulatory message, the delegation emphasized Georgia’s “rich history” and the “resolve of its people.”

“On Georgian Flag Day, we are reminded of Georgia’s rich history and the determination of its people. We hope that this flag will one day be part of the European family. May the Georgian flag always fly high!” the statement read.

The current national flag of Georgia was officially adopted by Parliament on January 14, 2004.
