Starting March 2026, Etihad Airways—the national carrier of the United Arab Emirates—will begin daily flights between Abu Dhabi and Tbilisi, marking its official entry into the Georgian aviation market. Tickets are already available on the airline’s website.
Levan Moseshvili, General Director of the Georgian Airports Association, welcomed the development, emphasizing the growing importance of Gulf countries as a tourism market for Georgia.
“Etihad Airways is one of the world’s top full-service carriers, known for its exceptional quality and safety standards. Its decision to launch daily flights to Tbilisi reflects a high level of trust in Georgia,” Moseshvili said. “This move will further boost tourist flows from the Gulf region, known for its high-spending travelers.”
Between January and June 2025, nearly 500,000 visitors from Gulf countries traveled to Georgia—an increase of 17% compared to the same period last year.
Etihad Airways was ranked among the Top 20 best airlines globally by Skytrax in 2025, placed 9th by Travel + Leisure, and named the fifth safest airline in the world in multiple surveys.
