"The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia Otar Shamugia attended the 33rd session of the Steering Committee of the European Union Program "European Neighborhood Program for Agriculture and Rural Development" (ENPARD)," - the Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia reports.
The Minister thanked the European Union for its support and noted that the European Neighborhood Program for Agriculture and Rural Development made a significant contribution to granting Georgia the status of a candidate member state of the European Union.
The head of the cooperation department of the EU representation in Georgia, Nikolas Senderovich, focused on the progress achieved by Georgia.
At the meeting, the parties evaluated the steps taken by Georgia in the direction of food safety, rural and agricultural development and discussed further plans.
The meeting of the ENPARD Steering Committee was organized by the the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). The event was attended by First Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture Nino Tandilashvili, Deputy Minister Kakha Kakabadze, the Ministry and relevant agencies included in its system, the European Union Representation, the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the Czech Development Agency (CzDA) ), representatives of the Swedish International Development and Cooperation Agency (SIDA).
