Electricity transit through the corridor of Georgia has decreased dramatically. According to the data published by the Georgian State Electrosystem, 391.07 million kWh of electricity was transited through Georgia in the last 7 months.
Electricity is mainly supplied from Azerbaijan to Turkey. In total, 331 million kWh were spent in this regard in 7 months. 59.6 million kilowatt hours were transmitted by the Georgian transmission network from Russia to Turkey.
It should be noted that the transit amount has reduced 5 times. In 7 months of 2023, 1.5 billion kWh of electricity were transported through the corridor of Georgia, and in total, last year, electricity transit amount exceeded 3.4 billion kWh.
According to the data published by the Georgian State Electrosystem, in 2023 the earnings received from transit reached 23 million GEL.
