According to the data published by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (GeoStat), electricity worth 84 million 339 thousand dollars was exported in 9 months, which is 468% higher than the figure of the same period last year. Georgia’s key trading partner countries for electricity exports is Turkey. The annual weighted average price of electricity exports increased by 16.4% in dollar terms in the first quarter, and a record 171% increase was observed in the second quarter. According to the data of the second quarter, the price of electricity increased from 10 to 25 tetri.
As of the total data of January-September, Georgia spent $34.7 million on electricity import. It should be noted that in August and September electricity was not imported into Georgia.
