
As the TBC Capital research stated, in the first half of the current year, electricity generation in Georgia increased by 3.9% annually and reached 7.33 TWh.
According to the report, during the reporting period, hydroelectric power stations produced 6.06 TWh. electricity, which indicates an annual increase of 13.5%. It is also worth noting that the electricity produced by hydroelectric power stations has the largest share of 82.6% in the total generated electricity.
In the same period, the amount of electricity generated by the thermal plants was 1.24 TWh. It should also be noted that in this case the amount of generated electricity has decreased by 26.3% compared to the same period of the previous year. The share of thermal power stations in the total output is 16.9%.
As for the wind power plants, in the first half of this year it decreased by 7.9% annually and reached 39.4 TWh.. The share of the electricity generated by wind power plants is 0.5%.
