In January and February 2023, 6,474 tons of onions worth 2.4 million US dollars were imported into Georgia. In the same period last year, 4,754 tons of onions worth 1.6 million US dollars. Georgia's top trading partners by imports are: Russia, Azerbaijan and Turkey. 
As for Egyptian onions, the 2023 harvest is already sold in the Georgian market. The wholesale price of the product is about GEL 2.5 per kilogram.
On average, Egypt produces 3 million tons of onions annually, which is enough for domestic consumption, food industry and export.
