Swiss airline Edelweiss has officially launched direct flights between Zurich and Tbilisi, marking a new chapter in air travel between Switzerland and Georgia. The inaugural flight carried 131 passengers and signals the start of regular service on the Zurich–Tbilisi–Zurich route, with flights scheduled twice a week.
On board the first flight were several representatives of the Swiss media, invited by the Georgian National Tourism Administration. During their week-long stay, they will explore the country and publish articles aimed at promoting Georgia as a travel destination.
Edelweiss, a leisure-focused airline and subsidiary of Swiss International Air Lines, is part of the Lufthansa Group and has been operating for 29 years.
