Edelweiss Air, a Swiss airline, will begin operating in the Georgian aviation market this spring, offering direct flights between Tbilisi and Zurich. Starting April 12, the airline will operate two flights per week, on Tuesdays and Sundays, from Tbilisi International Airport.
The Civil Aviation Agency of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development granted Edelweiss Air an operation permit on March 20.
The agency emphasized that the airline’s entry into the Georgian market will enhance tourism from European countries and improve travel connections between Georgia and Switzerland.
Edelweiss Air AG, a Swiss leisure and charter airline, is a sister company of Swiss International Air Lines and a subsidiary of the Lufthansa Group.
