
In 8 months of 2023, the trade turnover between Georgia and Hungary included 46.2 million US dollars, while in the same period last year, it was 38.4 million US dollars.
From this, this year the volume of import amounted to 46.02 million US dollars, while export was only 598.5 thousand US dollars.

2. Ready or canned products made from meat, meat by-products, others - 2.3 million USD
3. Passenger cars - 2.3 million USD
4. Means for oral or dental hygiene - 1.9 million USD
5. Insecticides and anti-emergence agents and plant growth regulators - 1 million USD
As for exports, 5 products Georgia sold to Hungary in the largest volume in 2023 are as follows:
1. Other finished products, including clothing patterns - 209.2 thousand USD
2. Fruit and vegetable juices - 113.2 thousand USD
3. Telephone equipment, including telephones for cellular or other wireless networks - 87.6 thousand USD
4. Pipes, tubes and hollow profiles, seamless, made of black metal - 69.8 thousand USD
5. Plywood glued, panels made of wood veneer and similar materials from mixed wood - 27.3 thousand USD
Tourism
In the 2nd quarter of 2023, 2,564 visitors from Hungary visited Georgia, while in the same period last year, 1,509 thousand people visited Georgia.
One of the main actors in the economic relationship is the Hungarian Wizzair, which will fly to a total of 27 destinations from the Kutaisi airport from June 2023.
Money transfers
According to the official data of the National Bank of Georgia, Hungary is not among the 15 countries from which transfers are made.
According to the data of the National Statistics Office of Georgia (GEOSTAT), Hungary is not even in the top ten countries in terms of direct foreign investments.
The highest foreign direct investment of $4 million from Hungary entered Georgia in 2021, while in other years the FDI was in the range of $2-$2.7 million.
