
According to the data published by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (GEOSTAT), in the current year, the trade turnover between Georgia and Brazil amounted to $124,619 million, which is an annual increase of 43%.
It should be noted that trade turnover mainly focused on imports, the revenue of which amounted to approximately $124.3 million this year. Last year, the import revenue totaled $80 million. Therefore, imports have increased by about 55% annually. In the 9 months of 2022, the export revenue was only $274.5 thousand, while this figure was $7 million in the corresponding period of 2021.
According to the GEOSTAT, in the current year, nuts and walnuts worth $239 thousand and wine worth $35 thousand were exported from Georgia to Brazil.
As for imports, during the reporting period, ores and copper concentrates worth $42 million were imported from Brazil to Georgia. Sugar ranked 2nd with 33.1 million USD in imports, and frozen pork with the revenue of 24.4 million USD - ranked 3rd.
As for tourism, in January-September 2022, 1120 visits were made from Brazil to Georgia.
