According to the data published by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (GEOSTAT), in 2023, compared to 2022, Georgia-Azerbaijan trade turnover increased by 202 million US dollars. In particular, last year trade turnover between the countries was 1.515 billion US dollars, the previous year - 1.313 billion US dollars.
Besides, products worth $862,070 million were exported from Georgia to Azerbaijan last year, which is $189 million more than the figure of the previous year. In 2022, export amount totaled to $672,699 million.
As for imports, in 2023, products worth $653.911 million were imported from Azerbaijan, which is slightly ahead of the previous year's figure. In 2022, Georgia purchased products worth $640,393 million from the mentioned country.
As the GEOSTAT reported, in the third quarter of 2023, Azerbaijan invested 16,354 million US dollars in Georgia. According to the statistics of the National Tourism Administration, as of the third quarter of last year, 147,195 tourists from Azerbaijan visited Georgia, which is 31.3% more than the figure of the same period of the previous year.
As for remittances, according to the data of the National Bank of Georgia, in December 2023, 4,186 million US dollars were deposited from Azerbaijan, and 3,584 million US dollars were transferred from Georgia.
