
From May 1 to July 14, 2024, 4.5 thousand tons of blueberries were exported from Georgia, the earnings from them amounted to $26.2 million. Compared to the same period last year, the volume of exported blueberries increased by 1.6 thousand tons (by 56%), and the earnings - by 9.1 million US dollars (by 53%).
Blueberries are mainly exported to: Russia, Germany, Poland, the United Arab Emirates, Armenia, the Netherlands, Turkey and other countries.
It should be noted that the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia actively supports the planting of new blueberry orchards; Within the framework of the Plant in the Future program, 2,836 hectares of blueberry orchards have been planted throughout Georgia with the co-financing of 53.5 million GEL.
The current year's blueberry export earnings have exceeded the total export value of 2023 by 5.6 million US dollars. As for the amount of exports, 3.4 thousand tons of blueberries were exported from Georgia in 2023.
