
According to the government of Georgia, the dynamics of tourism recovery in Georgia is characterized by quite fast pace. In the annual report submitted to the Parliament, the government notes that as of 2022, the number of international visits amounted to 5,426,903, which is a 58% recovery from the 2019 figure.
"The number of international tourists amounted to 3,652,949, which is a 71.9% recovery from the 2019 data and a 131.6% increase compared to 2021. The dynamics of recovery continues to be stable. According to the data of the first quarter of 2023, the number of international visits was determined at 1,208,462, which is a 74.7% recovery from the data of 2019. In the case of tourist visits, the recovery rate exceeds 95% (845,332 tourist visits)", the government notes.
According to the government, in 2023, for the first time in the country's history, Georgia, as the host country, presented itself with dignity at the largest and most influential tourist exhibition - ITB Berlin 2023, which represented the greatest opportunity to highlight the country's tourist destination and introduce tourist products to the whole world.
It should be noted that the exhibition was held LIVE for the first time after a three-year hiatus, which 5,500 participants from more than 160 countries joined.
