
According to the National Statistics Office (GeoStat), in the third quarter of 2025, the average monthly number of domestic visitors aged 15 and older in Georgia was 1,375,700, who made a total of approximately 1,743,300 visits each month.
Compared to the same period last year, the average monthly number of visitors fell by 5.7%, while the total number of visits decreased by 0.9%. The average monthly number of tourist visits by Georgian residents was 799,900, down 6.9% from Q3 2024.
The 31–50 age group accounted for the largest share of visitors (36.3%), and women made up 57.8% of all domestic tourists.
Regarding regional distribution, 38.7% of visitors were residents of Tbilisi, followed by 15.4% from Imereti, Racha-Lechkhumi, and Kvemo Svaneti, and 9.6% from the Adjara Autonomous Region. Other regions contributed smaller shares.
Purpose of visits: Nearly half (49.3%) of all visits were for visiting friends and relatives.
Top destinations: The Imereti region received the highest number of visits, averaging 352,300 per month, followed by Tbilisi with 307,000 visits per month.
Expenditure: Total spending on visits in Q3 2025 was GEL 399.5 million, a 2.8% decrease from the same period in 2024. The average expenditure per visit also fell 1.9%, reaching GEL 229.1.
This data indicates a modest decline in domestic tourism activity and spending, despite Imereti and Tbilisi remaining the most popular destinations.
