According to US Ambassador Kelly Degnan, distancing Georgia from its natural allies only serves narrow interests and not the Georgian people. As the Ambassador told Voice of America, it is not clear why some politicians are trying to create a divide between America and Georgia.
The Ambassador stated “Georgia has no greater friend than the United States”. The diplomat also told VOA that the Georgian people want closer ties with the USA.
