According to the Georgian Airports Union, at this stage, direct flight from Georgia to Spain will be operated only once a week from the Kutaisi International Airport.
"Most importantly, Georgian citizens can travel to Spain for tourist purposes. Direct flights from Kutaisi to Barcelona and vice versa are operated by Wizz Air, the fastest growing Hungarian low-cost airline in Europe,” - the Airports Union said.
Symbolic gifts were distributed to the first flow of all 170 passengers organized by the Georgian Airports Union at the Kutaisi Airport.
Director of the Georgian Airports Union, Tamar Archuadze, and Head of DMO Imereti, Tato Liluashvili, met the renewed flight.
"We are pleased that upon the start of the winter navigation season, direct flights between Georgia and Spain from the Kutaisi International Airport have resumed. Passengers can fly from Kutaisi to Barcelona and vice versa once a week via Wizz Air. 170 passengers benefited from this route on the first day and we hope that their number will increase even more in the next stage. In a few days we will add two more European destinations from Kutaisi to Vienna and Berlin,” - said Tamar Archuadze.
Only twice-vaccinated persons with any vaccine available in Georgia can travel to Spain as a tourist, who must present a document (the so-called COVID-19 card with QR code) confirming their vaccination status at the border. 48 hours before departure to Spain, it is necessary to fill in the online medical registration form and present the QR-code received at the border.
During the winter navigation season, direct regular flights from the Kutaisi International Airport will also start in three cities: from November 2 to Berlin and Vienna, and from December 16 to Abu Dhabi. According to the Georgian Airports Union, new destinations and frequencies will be added again, taking into account the epidemiological situation.
