Direct air traffic between Georgia and Rome to be resumed

From March 28, direct air traffic between Kutaisi and Rome will be resumed. Flights will be operated once a week by Europe's fastest growing low-cost airline Wizz Air. According to the United Airports of Georgia, consultations with the airline are underway to add pre-pandemic European destinations and increase frequencies.

"Georgian citizens will already be able to travel to Italy for tourism purposes. Passengers leaving Georgia must submit (except for documentation required by visa-free travel) a Passenger Locator Form (PLF) https://app.euplf.eu/#/, Covid-19 green pass, Certificate of COVID Recovery or Certificate of Molecular or Negative Antigen Test result, when entering the territory of Italy.

As a result of consultations with our strategic partner Wizz Air, at the beginning of the summer navigation season, the airline will resume air traffic between Rome and Kutaisi with one frequency in the first stage, however, the number of frequencies will most likely increase during the summer tourist active season. At this stage, it will be possible to get directly to the two Italian cities of Milan and Rome from the Davit Aghmashenebeli International Airport,'' - said Tamar Archuadze, the Director of the United Airports of Georgia.
At this stage, Wizz Air operates direct flights from the Kutaisi International Airport to 19 destinations in 11 European countries.
