Today, the Digital Transformation Forum Georgia will be opened in Tbilisi.
The four-day event is organized by the Georgian ICT Cluster, with the support of USAID Economic Security Program and its partners are the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the British Embassy in Georgia, the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI), CARE Caucasus, the Georgian Digital Transformation Consortium, the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Ministry, Parliamentary Committee on Sectoral Economics and Economic Policy, the National Communications Commission of Georgia, the National Bank of Georgia, the Vocational Skills Agency of Georgia, the Georgian Information and Technology Analysis Center, the Ilia State University, Crowdfunding Association of Georgia.
The USAID's Economic Security Program significantly supports the Georgian ICT Cluster in strengthening private-public dialogue, coordination between sectors and institutions, advocacy for business support in state policy, and measures aimed at increasing the professional workforce. The mentioned efforts are aimed at promoting the growth of relevant values in the IT sector, which will be in line with the digital transformation of Georgia and the country's role in the global digital economy.
The Digital Transformation Forum Georgia is a part of the mentioned process, the purpose of which is to create a platform for discussion of the latest technological trends, challenges and possibilities of the digital transformation of the Georgian economy for such different parties as public and private sectors, academia and civil society. Georgia's economy and IT sector prospects, as well as the country's positioning in the global economy, will be discussed at the Forum. In addition, the forum will also include professional capacity building activities aimed at the development of sectoral skills organizations, which will be conducted by the Vocational Skills Agency of Georgia.
It is important to note that the Digital Transformation Forum is being held in Georgia for the second time, organized by the Georgian ICT Cluster and supported by the USAID Economic Security Program. The number of partners of the Digital Transformation Forum, as well as the participants of the forum, has significantly increased in the second year, which is the result of the intensive cooperation of the Georgian ICT Cluster with local and international institutions and organizations.
The forum will be held in a hybrid format – the sessions will be held both in a live format, and speakers will join the forum online, and the audience will have the opportunity to listen to video addresses. In total, the forum is expected to be attended by an audience of about 300 people. The event will bring together representatives of government institutions, business, academia, international community and consulting sector, who will discuss the current and future projects related to the digital transformation of Georgia along with the main topics of the forum. Also, recommendations are presented to ensure the digital transformation of Georgia and the worthy positioning of the country in the global economy.
The forum aims to engage all stakeholders in the strategic planning and implementation of the country's digital transformation agenda. It should be noted that this year, for the first time, the Digital Transformation Forum Georgia will be held in Metaverse with the support of the Arrival company.
