The Georgian National Environment Agency has reported a rise in solid particle concentrations (PM10 and PM2.5) in the eastern regions of the country beginning July 26.

According to the Agency, this spike is mainly due to transboundary pollution caused by desert dust masses spreading from the south. These events typically occur under specific synoptic weather conditions on select days each year.

The Agency continues to monitor ambient air quality around the clock and urges the public to stay informed and follow health recommendations by visiting the national atmospheric air quality portal.
